Autodesk University
Visual notes are the best way to engage audiences at trade shows and conferences. Our long-time client Autodesk knows that better than anyone else -we’ve been working with them since 2016 to visualize various events, trade show booths, keynotes, and presentations.
Of the approximately 13,000 attendees at Autodesk University (a conference that connects many of today’s design and engineering experts across industries), only slightly over half were aware of Autodesk software’s full potential within manufacturing. At Autodesk University 2019, Ink Factory was tasked with creating an engaging installation at the Design & Manufacturing Quad networking area.
“Ink Factory was instrumental in demonstrating what our customers are making using manufacturing technology.”
Joanna Barnfield, MARKETING
It can be difficult to tell stories around manufacturing, especially ones that inspire an emotional connection. We needed to simplify the manufacturing message and easily explain how users are changing the world with Autodesk’s technology. Autodesk wanted to tell actual customer stories – something our engagement boards are perfect for.
This 10ft high, three-sided piece of art, evolved over the course of the AU Vegas event, with Ink Factory co-founders Ryan and Lindsay drawing the conversations Autodesk associates were having with customers.
Even among a tech-immersed audience, analog drawings really resonate. Autodesk’s audience was intrigued to see how their contribution was added to the artwork, and people came up to ask for their stories to be featured. At the end of the week, the visual notes showed a huge range of parts and industries customers are designing and making with Autodesk.
“We were blown away by the sheer diversity of things that our customers make, and it was fantastic that Ink Factory could turn them into such compelling artwork.”
Clinton Perry, marketing
At the end of the conference, Autodesk had the boards packaged and shipped all the way from Vegas to the United Kingdom, where they’ll be on permanent display in the Birmingham Technology Centre. They also were able to share the digital version of the boards internally, on social, and featured them in a blog recap of the conference.
We’ve also worked with Autodesk to create in-depth illustrations used to communicate complex ideas to employees and clients.
