UNA-USA’s UN Day
The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) is a movement of Americans dedicated to supporting the United Nations. With over 20,000 members and more than 200 chapters across the country, UNA-USA members are united in their commitment to global engagement and their belief that each of us can play a part in advancing the UN’s mission and achieving The Sustainable Development Goals.
Ink Factory was tasked with helping UNA-USA celebrate the 76th anniversary of the United Nations in a new and engaging way to surprise its members. The program for this UN Day program brought together UN and U.S. officials, humanitarians, young change-makers, and our UNA-USA members.
Inspiring Action
Enter live virtual visual note-taking! Emily Gianvecchio, membership & events associate at UNA-USA was feeling the difficulty of engaging virtual audiences during 2021. She and the rest of their team wanted to surprise their audience with something they’d never seen from UNA-USA before to inspire their audiences to continue tackling global challenges alongside the UN.
“Ink Factory helped realize our goal of inspiring and motivating audiences in both providing something visually appealing and surprising to our audiences AND helping us to document all of the great content in a way that motivates our audiences to take actionable next steps.”
Emily Gianvecchio, Membership & Events Associate at UNA-USA
While speakers from UNA-USA presented, the blueprint-inspired visual notes were shown intermittently on screen so the audience could see them progress throughout the event. Live visual notes are extremely flexible – they can be pinned next to the presenter at any point in the event, they can take up the entire screen, or they can be subtly building in the artist’s video feed off to the side.
“Our audience loved the visual notes! I think if anything, we learned that they wanted to see them more throughout the program.”
Emily Gianvecchio, Membership & Events Associate at UNA-USA
Continue to Engage Audiences
The beauty of visual notes is that they are not only engaging live but can continue to engage your audience long after your event when used strategically. Emily’s team used the visual notes in promotional collateral to drive folks to view the event on-demand. They also shared the notes with their members and chapters to serve as a reference for how they plan to create this blueprint for a better future. And, the visual notes will also serve as collateral as part of their “year-in-review” messaging as an organization. All fantastic ways to continue inspiring action and make the most out of their investment in visual note-taking!
